Dive Alert - Northeast Bank

We will be diving today on Northeast Bank, an extinct volcano that last erupted between 7 - 11 million years ago. It is a guyot, or a flat-topped volcanic cone surrounded by smaller cones. The flat top was caused by wave action during the last Ice Age, when lower sea levels brought the summit right to the surface of the ocean. The flanks should show evidence of lava, and we don't know what to expect about the top, as it has never been explored before.
