Girl Scout Shelby O'Neil Speaks at Dreamforce 2017 in San Francisco

Girl Scout Shelby O'Neil, spoke at Dreamforce 2017, the largest software conference in the world, taking place November 6 - 9 in San Francisco. Shelby spoke yesterday about her "No Straw November" initiative, which is part of her Jr Ocean Guardians project that she initially created for her Gold Award.

Shelby spoke at the end of the Forbes CEO Series Oceans Panel about environmental issues, specifically unwanted plastics such as single-use straws polluting our oceans. Shelby formed Jr Ocean Guardians for her 2017 Girl Scout of America Gold Award Project to share her passion to save our oceans and marine life for future generations.

Shelby and her Jr Ocean Guardian Ambassadors visit lower grade level school children and host beach clean-ups to spread the word on alternatives to single-use plastics and also the importance of recycling.
 

Michelle Obama and Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Sylvia Acevedo were also speakers at the event.
