Brownie Troop Brings Holiday Cheer to Seniors in Newbury Park

Girl Scout Brownie Troop 63036 would like to share a "budding" holiday tradition with you...

Brownie Troop 63036 (and two Juniors from Troop 63035 -- older siblings to girls in 63036!) from St. Paschal Baylon School sang Christmas carols and Girl Scout songs to senior citizens at Mary Health of the Sick in Newbury Park on Wednesday, December 7th. The girls also crafted Christmas trees and wreaths beforehand to hand out to the seniors!

The girls sang with big smiles and big voices to residents in the dining hall. The girls also visited a few special patients and sang in their rooms. One of the resident's doctors told the girls that, "they were the best medicine his patients could receive!"

The girls agreed that they were spreading Christmas cheer which benefited the nursing home residents and themselves, and we agree that this is a wonderful tradition to carry on both during the holidays and at any time of the year. Go Troop 63036 (and 63035) for bringing heartfelt warmth and cheer to those who need it most during the holiday season!

The troop hopes to continue this tradition each year and are thinking of including other troops from their school and making this a St. Paschal Baylon event.
