It's JOANN Girl Scout Day Saturday, September 23!

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and JOANN Stores have teamed up to inspire girls, troops, and volunteers to explore their individual creativity and use it to make a positive influence on the world. Through a new reward program, JOANN will offer a discount to members of Girl Scouts and donate a portion of sales to GSUSA.

Come out to the first national in-store event with JOANN Girl Scout Day on Saturday, September 23. We have five locations in our council:

• Oxnard
• Thousand Oaks
• Simi Valley
• Santa Maria
• Salinas
  

During this event, Girl Scouts and their families are invited to connect with their local JOANN store managers to enjoy special promotions, activities, and refreshments.

From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., JOANN stores will offer a free Sit-Upon making class (or girls can work on another craft during class time). Materials needed which you can bring from home or purchase at JOANN stores include:

• large canvas tote bag
• 3-5 rolls of duck tape
• foam pad
• scissors (JOANN stores will have some scissors available)
  

All the materials for the sit-upon could cost $35 in store, before the reward card discount and the in-store coupon.

** Due to limited space, the Oxnard JOANN location has expanded its Sit-Upon class hours to be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Bring a non-Girl Scout friend! Those not affiliated with Girls Scouts who are interested can learn more about local troops and how to join, while Girl Scout members can register for their reward cards and begin saving immediately! Learn more here.
