Troop 61105 Helps the Firefighters battling the Thomas Fire

****NO DONATIONS SHOULD BE MADE TO THE AQUATIC CENTER, OR THE FAIRGROUNDS AT THIS TIME. THEY ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCEPT DONATIONS!  DONATION GOODS FOR THE UNITED WAY ARE ALSO TBD ****

With the Thomas Fire causing so much damage and devastation to Ventura County, first responders and firefighters have been hosted at the Ventura Aquatic Center to take a shower, snack, and recharge.

Grocery Outlet in Ventura has been generously donating to Troop 61105 to help the girls start to gather resources for this event to help firefighters. The girls, along with many other troops and local community organizations, are continuing to collect for displaced families and those affected by the ongoing wildfires.

If you'd like to help you can collect for the shelter that has been set up at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, including:

  • Disposable diapers size 4 & 5
  • Lotion
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Baby cereal
  • Baby food
  • Coffee creamer
  • Cups with lids (for coffee)
  • Bowls (for cereal)
  • Spoons
  • Wheelchairs
  • Kids' activity books / reading books / crayons
  • Duct tape
  • Hand warmers
  • Resealable plastic baggies (like Ziploc)
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries for flashlights
  • Sharpies
  • Scissors
  • Extension cords
  • Coolers/Ice bags
UPDATE: The Aquatic Center, the Fairgrounds, the Collection, and the United Way are not taking goods right now.  Please do not go to these places!

The Collection at Riverpark has also established a donation center and is mobilizing volunteers to distribute donations.

Thank you for your help and support! Stay safe.
